Spiritual Care, Hospice & You

+ Share
Spirituality can be described as that which gives meaning to life. It refers to the universal need for love, hope relatedness, value and dignity. Spiritual needs are very important and personal. Spirituality may or may not involve religious beliefs and practices.

Frontier Hospice recognizes the importance of the spiritual dimension in the services provided to our patients and their families.

Our non-denominational Spiritual Care Counselors (chaplains) are highly trained and experienced professionals with advanced training in cultural and religious diversity as well as perspectives on health, disease, death and dying.

Our Spiritual Care team offers support to hospice patients and families through:

  • Supportive listening
  • Discussing life events and their meaning
  • Exploring end of life issues and feelings
  • Offering familiar religious practices such as inspirational readings, prayers, administering sacraments, and other meaningful rituals
  • Networking with local faith communities
  • Assisting with funeral planning and officiating at funerals and memorial services
